For the first time Team Anglia entered relays in the Norfolk Masters Meet held on May 16th at the UEA, Norwich with great success, the relays were the Mens 200+ 4 x 25m Medley and 4 x 25m Freestyle relay.
The first event was the medley relay with Dave Cartledge from Bedford Modernians swimming the backstroke, Marcel Scholten, also Modernians swam the breaststroke, Richard O’Leary from March Marlins swam the fly leg, with Martyn Fresher also Marlins bringing the relay home on the freestyle leg with a winning time of 59.33, the only time faster at the whole meet was from a senior age group team.
The freestyle relay again involved all four swimmers, recording a time of 52.18 and taking the gold medal, again the time was only bettered by two 72+ teams.
